The Gruffalo
Our latest storysack based on the very popular children's book "The Gruffalo" is finally complete and is sure to be a great hit with the children at St George's School.
Some of the characters were very time-consuming to make them look like the pictures in the book, but I think it was time well spent!
We will be presenting the storysack with all its characters and accessories, which include a little handmade forest and toadstools as well as some word games, to the children towards the end of June.
The next book we are going to tackle is George and the Dragon and our first meeting to plan this is at 8pm on Monday 16th July.

Jubilee Flowers for the Village
On a beautiful sunny May morning some members of our WI took our trowels, gardening gloves and lots of plants down to the village green to plant up the raised flower bed in the jubilee colours of red, white and blue. Alongside the traditional bedding plants of geranium, verbena and lobelia, we have also planted tobacco plants, campanula, cosmos and feverfew to encouange and help bees.
We are looking forward to watching the plants as they settle in, spread and start to flower, hopefully in time for Little Chalfont Village Day on Saturday 16th June.

OUR LATEST STORYSACK
Here at last are some photos of our most recent storysack WILBIE - FOOTIE MAD!
It is all about Wilbie - a duck who wants to be in the football team with all his friends. As you can see he had lots of friends - all beautifully knitted, and a green felt football pitch! We hope the children at St George's School enjoy reading this book and playing with all the characters as much as we enjoy making them.
We are now working on "The Gruffalo" - watch this space!
